19th July 2010 by admin No CommentsWhy are flowers given in a funeral? What is the biggest reason to give flowers funeral flowers? These are the types of question my children asked me when we had to goto attend a funeral few months ago. It came a surprise to me and I did not know how to anwer that? I replied back saying the flowers are to honour the death of the person. The colour and the brightness of the flowers play a big part in the tribute.
Flowers generally bring a smile on people’s faces. This is one of cheering up the people who are feeling down after a terrible loss. Flowers can also be represented as a thank you towards the person. Sometimes we don’t know how to express our feelings towards the family who are feeling down hence we take help of flowers to express our feelings in a positive way.
Nowadays there are flowers for different occassions. There are birthday flowers, wedding flowers, funeral flowers and sympathy flowers. Most florists tend to create funeral bouquet with white flowers. Wedding, Birthday, Anniversary and other flower bouquets have colourful flowers. Though some people have started giving colourful flowers even in the funeral for the reason I explained above.
These days you will be able to get custom made flowers for these relevant reasons. It doesn’t have to be white flowers for funeral just give the family what they will appreciated and like. Yes white flowers are for peace and sympathy but then again colourful flowers will not do any harm either. Both flower types can be sympathy flowers and used as a symbol of appreciation towards the family.
Even if you are not able to attend a funeral because of being in a different country you can always buy flowers online and get it delivered in the funeral. Its the thought that counts if you cannot be there.
