Bereavement leave policies allow employee who have been with the company for a long time to have longer days that are paid in order to recovery from his or her loss and to also get things done. However those who have not been with the company for a longer period may only enjoy a maximum of three days that are paid. There are some companies that grant five days paid for the employee though.

Some bereavement leave policies depend on the number of days that are paid or not on the loyalty of the employee with the company. If you want to be clear about this, then you can check your Employee handbook so you know how long you can be out of the office in order to spend time with your loved ones who are going through the tragedy with you.

Bereavement leave policies, like vacation, holidays, and sickness, are benefits of an employee from the company. That is why there are no bereavement leave federal laws only bereavement leave policies. This is simply because everyone has a right to this. Every business, institution, or company outlines these for their employees.
